Though online poker has been around for well over a decade now, it is only in recent years that sites have catered for Android users with the development of poker apps. We are now at a point in time where the internet is accessed more frequently by mobile and tablet users than those using computers, and so it is understandable as to why there are so many iPhone, Windows Phone and Android poker apps available to download.  Deciding on which to play at is obviously a matter of personal choice, but we have picked out some key features that you should look for when choosing between real money mobile poker sites.

Bitcoin GamblingBitcoin Mobile Poker
Since the events of Black Friday shook up the poker world, players have been searching for different ways to play online poker. There have been numerous, but faltering attempts at trying to re-think the current model, but most have fizzled out just as quickly as they were created. The auction style poker room that let you bid on cash prizes is just one creative, yet poor attempt that comes to mind..

Bitcoins on the other hand has been one of the more interesting and successful concepts not only in poker, but the world in general. This fairly new currency was once thought of as a fad, but more recently has emerged as a viable option for poker players all over the world.

How The World Of Poker On Android Changed In 2014 - Year In Review

12/3/2014

2014 has been an interesting year for the mobile poker industry.  Android and iPhone have continued to dominate the smartphone market, but let’s look back on what have been the biggest industry related topics throughout 2014.
Will Google Glass and Apple Watch Revolutionize Online Poker?
Bovada PokerUS friendly poker from Bovada
First US Friendly Poker Apps

One of the biggest revelations of the year was the introduction of not one, but two US friendly mobile poker apps. BetOnline, Carbon Poker and Bovada are just two of a handful of poker rooms that currently allow US based players through their doors and are now the only two (at time of writing) that provide a mobile poker app for US based players.

In terms of scale, there are still very few poker rooms that are accepting US based players and as a result, very few that provide them a mobile poker outlet, hence the level of interest surrounding this story. It’s very much hoped that similar companies will be able to follow suit in 2015, but having said that, the future may not be as bright for the US as we had hoped, with our next story outlining why.

Ladbrokes release new real-money poker app for Android

11/11/2014

Ladbrokes is continuing to try and rise above the recent set-backs suffered by this long standing brand, and has attempted to re-establish itself as a player in the expanding mobile poker market by offering a brand new mobile poker app for Android tablet and mobile users. The app is a native .apk file, and can only be downloaded via the Ladbrokes website due to Google's restrictions on real money gambling apps being made available at the Google Play store. Ladbrokes' new app was released in September 2014, and comes as a necessity due to their withdrawing from the Microgaming Poker Network in favour of the iPoker network, which they did in December, 2013.

PartyPoker - FastForward Poker

fastforward Poker (PartyPoker) Party Poker “sells” its fastforward poker by saying “it's exactly the same as regular poker except we've cut out all the boring stuff.” - the boring stuff I assume includes learning how to play poker by watching how others play their hands. The concept is identical to Rush Poker – PartyPoker's version of the “Quick Fold” button is called “forward fold” and once you've pressed it you'll find you've a whole new table of poker buddies to say hi to. You can only play Texas Hold'em, and you can play a maximum of four fastforward tables at once if you can keep up, plus the software makes sure you never suffer the embarrassment of meeting yourself at the same table.

fastforward is available on partypoker's mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android.  The app also supports Sit and Go tournaments and ring games.  A full review of the app can be
found here.

Why offshore poker sites still experience heavy traffic in regulated poker states in the USA

8/22/2014

It’s been almost a year since Nevada launched its regulated online poker market and the great expectations have been replaced with a rather bitter reality. The intrastate poker market is already stagnating and the revenues simply didn’t meet the expectations of poker operators and the state legislators. Most experts were predicting an almost infinite growth, but in the end it seems that  they didn’t take the popularity of offshore poker sites into account.

8/8/2014

Party Poker, part of the Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment group, recently added sit & go poker tournaments to their iOS app. From this new app you have the ability to create a new account, access your current account and play ring games as well as sit & go’s on the iPhone, iPad and iPad touch. This followed the release of these tournaments for the Android market earlier this year. Sit and go poker tournaments are single table tournaments and now you can quickly filter the available tables by number of players, buy in and how the tournament is structured. This is a natural progression for the mobile poker market and should be a welcome addition to mobile poker players worldwide.

Some of the features included with the new release include:
